Small portions and ridiculously over priced. Kids chicken tender meal ($5.00) included 2 scrawny chicken tenders and a small portion of applesauce. The drink was an additional $2.00! Kids burger meal (also $5.00 + $2.00 rod the drink) had a burger the size of a slider. Chicken salad was the size of a side salad anywhere else and there was an up charge for grilled chicken...$8.50. Hawaiian burger (ordered medium) was overlooked, dry, and tasteless.

I really wanted to give this place more than 3 stars but after 3 times eating here and once at their greenwood location I can't. There food is average service for me was spotty every time. I've had burgers, chicken breast, wings, onion rings, and a dinner salad all have been average but not exceptional. Good solid barfood. Service is below average at least for me in three visits. In Lees Summit there are so many choices that they will have to do something to stand out or else go the way of so many LS establishments lately. I think Greenwood location is better and that area is in more need of a place like Westside. The patio is really nice as well as the inside of the restaurant in LS a really nice atmosphere to eat in. 20 wings, a chicken breast sandwich onion rind and a salad was 35.00 which I thought was a little pricey but food costs are high and so is rent so I understand why it is. There are just a lot of places to eat where 35.00 will go farther, and it always comes down to the money. For both sides. In this economy you have to be better than average or at least make your customers think they are getting a deal to stay in business.

I have been coming here once or twice a week for a year or more. Don't understand the negative reviews. This is a great classy bar and grille. Nice wait staff, quick and friendly. Menu has a little bit of everything. Food is well above average for a bar and grille. Check it out and I think you will agree.

If I could select zero stars, I would. Service was decent until the food came. I ordered a hamburger, cooked medium, and my cousin ordered chicken nachos. Right before the food was delivered, the server brought my cousin a tiny styrofoam plate for her "meal". When she asked for a regular, bigger plate, you would have thought she was asking for a Ferrari from the server. When the food arrived...My hamburger was dripping with blood when I picked it up and my cousin was brought beef nachos instead of chicken. After speaking with the manager about my burger, he said they would make a new one for me. 10 minutes later they finally brought my badly burned burger back. It tasted awful. It was crunchy because of the burned spots on the burger from the grill. My cousin said she would keep her nachos as-is but did ask for more salsa and jalapenos. She was originally given a little plastic cup of salsa so it didn't last too long. The server brought more salsa and jalapenos pretty quickly though. After eating about two bites from my burger, I was done. Lost my appetite. The tater tots were good though (so that's a bonus...hard to mess those up!). So, we asked for our bill. Upon reviewing it, they did not discount anything for my burger issues and we realized my cousin was charged for extra salsa AND jalapenos! It would be one thing if they brought a huge bowl of both but we're talking a TINY cup with salsa and one with 5-6 jalapenos. Seriously?! We paid the bill but left no tip. Hopefully they got the message why. This was my first (and last) time going to Westside Grill and Bar. I had heard great things about the place but sounds like that was a long time ago when they were good...especially after reading reviews from other customers on here.

I have been here a few times and found the food to be acceptable. The last time I went we ordered the potato skins. The skins themselves were like leather and burned but somehow cold. The salsa they brought us was expired and had fermented. I also ordered tacos. I never thought that tacos could be screwed up but alas I was wrong. I ordered chicken and got beef and they did not season the meat. Extremely flavorless but at least I got salsa that wasn't expired with my meal. One of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. Our server was very apologetic and took off the skins but I can safely say that I will not be going back.

Let me start by saying that I know the owners and have been a regular customer for years. Tonight was my last visit. You have lost my business. I had a very poor experience tonight. You had an opportunity to rectify it, but decided not to do so. Your policy of "No refunds" on Steaks speaks volumes of your concern for customer retention and customer service. I will not bore you with all of the details, as I can see others have experienced the same thing we did. We experienced cold food, and when given an opportunity to fix or replace the food, they failed a second time. The service was slow and unacceptable. All I asked for was an adjustment to our bill. All they had to do was offer something for the trouble we experienced. They chose not to do so, while admitting that they had screwed up. We would have been fine with a 25% discount or a coupon for a future a visit, but nothing was offered. In essence, they could have spent $8.00 to save three customers and of the revenue that we would have brought in the future. I will give great credit to the manager who was very professional and empathetic, but she had no power to fix the problem and the owner was not present. Anyone knows that a key to customer service is allowing those on the front line, the authority to fix problems. The owners are nice people. I find it a shame their policy would not allow the flexibility for a common sense solution.

Chicken wings were excellent! Bar prices seemed a bit high but not out of line. Will go again.

We've been going to Westside since the first week it opened. If you would have asked me then, I would have told you it's the best place to get a steak on Thursday nights. Drinks are always heavy handed, and the servers knew what I wanted without me ordering. Due to my wife and I having a baby, we hadn't been in about a year. Things have definitely changed. The steak quality was terrible, and nothing tasted the same (except the jalapeno balls those are still great). I had heard this from several others, and very sad to see it true.

Just left the grill after sitting hour and half waiting on food. Went to manager and food hadn't been started yet . Couldn't believe it. They asked do we still want our order. We asked about some compensation and she would give us 50% off but steaks still hadn't been started. Another 20 minute wait. Needless to say we walked out. Never to return. Service was horrible. Sucks

My girlfriend and i came here to check it out, then read a review that was funny. We ordered two pints at 7:55 and at 8:05 still havent seen our server. We had enough. Sick of lack luster service. Really? How tough is this? I look at my phone and keep track of the time always nowadays. Maybe if we sat at the bar it would have been better. * a good place to skip

The food took forever to get to table, even though it was slow on a Sunday at lunch, then it was wrong. When I did get what I ordered it was average at best. They seem to need a Bar Rescue. Don't waist your time with this place. If they keep running it like they are it won't be around anyway.

Horrible. Ate there last night with friends, and I am still not happy about the server delivering a full bill to us of $80, with no discounts, comped items, or apologies about what all went wrong during our visit. Six of us in the party, three of us and three of them; separate checks. We were there to celebrate: getting out of debt, two retirements among us, and a new car purchase, so we were all happy and feeling celebratory when we arrived. My ribeye was served absolutely COLD. It was taking the guy so long to come around in between table visits that I immediately got up and took my plate to him to tell him about the steak being cold. When I did, he asked me if it was ALL cold, and when I told him no, the loaded potato was hot, he slid my steak off the plate and said they'd throw it back on the grill, and brought my potato right back out to me. So, I either eat my potato alone while I wait for my steak to be reheated, or I wait to eat it with my steak and it's cold by then, too. So I munched on my "salad"...some bagged lettuce on a plate with some shredded cheese on top, no tomato or cucumber or anything else...and my potato while waiting for my steak. My husband ordered the surf n turf Friday special, which was a 8oz strip steak and 4 heavily breaded shrimp. The steak was ordered medium, and came out without a hint of pink in it at all. And it was cold, as well. His whole plate was cold, potato too, so they did remake his whole plate. While I ate my potato and lettuce (I don't like cheese on my salad, so I picked it off). Our daughter ordered the chicken enchilada soup, which was disgusting. It was as if they had taken an actual chicken enchilada and put it in a blender, it was so THICK. Not like a soup at all. She did say the chicken tenders were really good. Our friends did not receive their dinners until we were done eating. Their order, although reportedly was turned into the kitchen at the same time as ours, wasn't made until we complained after ours was delivered (cold). We weren't in a hurry, but we were there two and a half hours total. I was just floored when the server delivered our bill, charging us full price for delivering cold food, reheating a steak, remaking one whole plate, forcing me to be the only one eating my dinner at the time because husband's was being remade, and our friends hadn't been served. IF you insist on eating here, stick with beer; I don't recommend their margaritas. I guess I was supposed to know that a "loaded" potato comes with an extra $1.00 charge, bc the server didn't mention it. It was just a nice little surprise on our bill. We are very easy to please, but what a severe disappointment and gray cloud over our celebrations this place put on our evening/week. And I resent paying $80 for that meal.

Just came for happy hour and took more than an hour for 3 lousy appetizers. Raw veggies looked like they were left out for days, potato skins served cold, chicken wings looked like old man ball sack. Service was ok, as one server was taking care of the entire patio. My wife said it was her worst meal in a decade. So all things considered, I would skip this place.

Westside is one of our favorite neighborhood bars to go grab a quick bite and a brew. Thursday is the night to be there - the special is a 6 oz filet or 12 oz strip with a baker (or salad if you prefer). The steaks have always been tender, juicy and for the most part cooked as ordered. (Granted I've been there many times for this special and on occasion the steak has been underdone - and immediately rectified). I agree with the first review that lunch service can be a little slow. The people that work day shift there obviously are just collecting a paycheck and aren't very attentive. But the evening shift (especially Skye) are outstanding - friendly, courteous, and given how slammed they are on Thursdays quite attentive. The only complaint I have is their draft beer selection is pretty lame. They've got a deal with AB so it's a lot of Bud, Bud Light, Ultra, Shock Top, etc... They've got Bully Wheat but for a beer snob like me I usually order a Bloody Mary (which are delicious).
